1850 AMERICAN SEAMEN'S FRIEND SOCIETY Life Membership Certificate POLLY CLAFLIN
This auction is for an original hand tinted Life Membership certificate to the American Seamen's Friend Society.  The 18 ¾” wide x 17 ½” high certificate is dated January 1st 1850 in New York, and was issued to Mrs. Polly L. Claflin.  The certificate has an outstanding engraving of sailing ships in port and is signed by the Society’s officers at the bottom.  The certificate has dimensions 18 ¾” wide x 17 ½” high and the condition is VG with scattered foxing, slight fading to the handwritten ink, minor edge wear, and the right margin appears to have been trimmed slightly in the 19th Century.   Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other auctions.  Combined shipping is available to save postage.
