Description
Listing is for a paper bound slim book measuring about 10 1/2" x 15 1/2" containing 10 beautiful paper examples of what I believe is Japanese fabric for kimonos. the plates, which are paper, measure about 6" x 9" and all are numbered from 61-70 and have the Japanese name for the fabric and include a description in English and also the name of the owner. A few examples of the names shown are: Karaori, Choken, and Atsuita. There is a fountain pen inscription in the front of the book which reads "To Dear Mr. Ewing From I Takanosu Nagoya Higher Technical School Nagoya Japan The paper plates are affixed to the pages but the adhesive is pretty dried out so they could easily be removed for framing if desired. There is protective tissue separating the plates. The front covers of this book are in rough shape but they have successfully protected the interior pages over the years. Green ribbon is what is holding the pages together. The paper is very browned and somewhat fragile consistent with age and quality of paper stock and how the item was stored before I placed it in my personal collection in the early 1980's. Please see the photos which are an important part of the description.
