    Description

    1966 396 375 hp block. It has it’s original 964 caps, and has been decked.Casting date looks like it is J-28-5. The block is currently bored to 4.280  or a .030 over 427. The 962 casting Is known for having very thick cylinder walls as evidenced by the pencil not fitting between the barrels. Many have run as 427’s. Ran 10.95 in a Camaro at this bore years ago, but you can also sleeve all eight cylinders back to standard and my price reflects that. The  cam  thrust area has been machined for a Torrington bearing timing chain.It also has 3 heilicoils in the head bolts but overall a pretty solid block.
