  • Condition: 1968 Chevrolet engine block 3959512 casting # with F 25 8 date code (Jun.25, 1968). Block is standard bore with very slight ridge. This block casting is listed at most sites as a 1962-67 327 cu. in. engine, which is what the 4577 steel forged crankshaft suggests and makes it a 327. But there are many that see this casting as a major replacement or counter engine through the years, this one being a CE engine code (CE0A00159) follows that idea. The 4577 crankshaft is a small journal steel forged 327, of which the rod and mains journals are standard and look to be in very good condition, no grooves, the rod journals have light surface rust, the block has been sitting in this state for a number of years. This block could also be a correct CE replacement block for a 302 or the 350 car. Block has not been magna-fluxed, but looks good, no visible cracks, cylinders have surface rust and look good. Will need to be tanked and honed or bored and honed. Still has a cam and lifters in it.
