    Description

    You are looking at the 396 / 325 HP engine short block from a 66 Chevelle Super Sport. Block is cast # 3855961 and is dated B16 (Feb. 1, 1966). This block is correct for 65 66 model year only in full size Chevy & Chevelle with 325 or 360 HP. Block is 2 bolt main. Block is stamped with suffix code EKH which is 66 396 / 325 HP Chevelle with Holley carb & PowerGlide. The block is .STD bore. The bores look good but have light pitting from being stuck. We had to beat the pistons out. To be safe, plan on boring it to .030. The 6223 steel crank is STD/STD but should be cut .010/.010. This block has been tanked, magnafluxed and shot peened. It checks out good and I guarantee this to be a good, usable block. The crank was also magged and is crack free. The pistons look rough. Rods look fine. You get everything you see pictured. These blocks are not growing on trees anymore. If this is the date and # you need for your restoration, do not let it get away.
