    Description

    You are looking at a 66 dated 396 Chevy 4 bolt main block. Block is cast # 3855962 and cast date I295 which is Sept 29, 1965 for the 66 model year. This block is correct for early built 66 Chevelle 396 / 360 or L78 375 HP. The block is currently .030. (4.115). The bores look good and there are no sleeves. It will just needs honed. Block is decked and the suffix code is gone. There is one repair in the starter bolt area (pictured). This block has been tanked, magnafluxed and shot peened. It all checks out good and I guarantee this to be a good, rebuildable block. A RARE find for your correct Chevelle restoration.
