Description
HISPANO-SUIZA J12 - 54 CV - 12 CYLINDERCATALOG ARTWORK PAGES 1935
Eleven loose pages from one of the most important and sumptuous automobile sales catalogs of the 1930s – the 1935 Hispano-Suiza model J12 12 cylinder 54 CV catalog, designed and printed by Draeger Freres.
Each page is single-sided 13 ¾” x 10” (35cm x 25.3cm), and printed in black and red on fancy textured art paper.
These pages were originally double pages (paper folded over) but have been carefully separated with the individual pages, their edges, and the spiral binding holes left in excellent and perfect condition.
These pages are ideal for framing.
Specifically this lot includes: two pages of French text describing this Hispano-Suiza model, one page of chassis specifications (four different chassis lengths), one full-page illustration of the motor, and seven full-page art illustrations of various coachwork:
“Cabriolet 3 Places” by Carrosserie Million Guiet on chassis court
“Faux-Cabriolet 5 Places” by Carrosserie Kellner on chassis court
“Conduite Interieure 5 Places” by Carrosserie Vanvooren on chassis leger
“Conduite Interieure Transformable 5 Places” by Carrosserie Saoutchik on chassis leger
“Roadster A Capote Dissimulee 3 Places Avant” by Carrosserie Fernandez on chassis normal
“Cabriolet 5 Places” by Carrosserie Vanvooren on chassis normal
“Cabriolet 4 Places Interieures” by Carrosserie Kellner on chassis normal
Please see the illustrations.
The full pages are too big for my scanner, so the top and bottom edges do not show.
Also any darkness, yellow, or shading at the edges of the pages is due to my scanner.
All pages are totally white, clean, and bright.
The original (very rare) catalogs contain twelve coachwork illustrations.
Complete versions of this catalog in very good condition rarely are offered on eBay or elsewhere, and usually sell for around 00 or more.
I am not a dealer, but have been collecting high-end “Classic Era” automotive sales catalogs for forty years, and have now decided to sell off some of my duplicates.
Please contact me with any questions, and with regard to international shipping.
Also please see my other eBay listings, which include some important automotive sales catalogs of the 1930s, including a complete copy of this catalog in very good condition.
