Lot Consists a very scarce, original 1869 Printing of - "MEMORANDA OF SOME OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE FRIENDS OF BALTIMORE - YEARLY MEETING - IN RELATIONS TO THE WESTERN INDIANS". Committee Booklet deals with the post Civil War, American Indian's problems as viewed by those against the then current bureaucracy. Sections read as such: ".....to raise our Red Bretheren from the depth of misery, wretchedness, and impending extermination, to which they have been so- sorrowfully sunk by the mal-administration of our Indian Affairs."
Paper cover booklet is approx. 7-3/8" high x 4-7/8" wide and has approx 32 pages including 28 being comprised of text. Booklet has some light edge and corner wear and some overall toning. Cover has some splitting in spine edge on top and bottom, a dark spot on right bottom third, along with some other light spotting and stains. Interior pages are also toning and have some light chips on edges. Overall in good condition for a 148 paper publication. Booklet has been stored away for many years.
