American Legions New Jersey Post 74 Garrison Cap & Medal appear in good condition. It does have the 40 men 8 horse medal on it. Please look at the pictures as they are the biggest part of the description, then if you have any questions, just ask, Thanks
Below is part of an article I found while researching this cap;
The cap is made of material very similar to the blue material of WWI French uniforms & similar to the French side caps of
the period. The original owner probably wore this cap in the 1960s and 70s. The American Legion was founded by WWI veterans in 1919 & the 40/8 was founded by a few of the 1st Legionnaires in 1920 as an honor society within the American Legion.  Membership is by invitation only.
The cap and medal for the Forty and Eight, or officially "La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux," which is French for "The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses.” The name comes from the French railroad cars that transported troops in WWI. Marked "40/8" on the side, the cars were supposed to hold either forty men or eight horses.

Any item under 16 oz will ship 1st class & anything over a pound will ship Priority or UPS unless Parcel is stated on the description. We can make no guarantees regarding carriers or delivery dates. We Do Not Ship outside the Continental United States. Return Policy
Buyer is responsible for return shipping & insurance cost. When you're sending the item back, repack it carefully just as you received it  and keep in mind that the condition you send the item back to the seller in is important. You'll need to send it back within 5 business days of the seller accepting your return & make sure the tracking details are uploaded. Buyer pays 20% restocking fee. No refund on buyer remorse
