    Description

Vintage Japanese thick cotton indigo hanten, haori, jacket woven in sashiko style
Not sure of the date, perhaps Taisho or Showa era
At the interior is a design that is different from the back of the jacket
The hanten resembles a haori but with a different sleeve shape
Perhaps some of the kanji characters on the jacket translates as  "head of firefighter group"
This firefighter's jacket was probably worn at festivals
Length from bottom of collar to hem: 35 inches
Width from end of sleeve to end of sleeve: 51 inches
Very good condition considering the age
