  • Condition: small split to one of the strap holders. Very light areas of white oxidation. Item has scuffs, scratches, and minor dings, and needs a cleaning. No visible breaks or repairs...

    WWI Italian Pewter Flask/ Canteen - engraved and dedicated with the years 1915 - 1918 on one side.  No major damage.  Some very light/ white oxidation, scratches, minor dings, and a small split at one side buckle.  Not sure if it holds water, as I have not tested it.  Buyer accepts this - as the item is a period collectible.  No strap included...
    Marking as stamped, is Fein Zinn 95% and missing some of the remainder of the branding, but it appears to end in "Fin" and would likely read "Etain Fin" for Italian made.  Height is about 8-3/8" to the top of the cap.  Weight is about 1 Lb 14 oz.  Exact date of manufacturing unknown, but period. I have been told that this may have been made as a tribute slightly after the War.  It may also have been engraved as
    homage
    after being used during the War - unknown.
